Dr Amirudin Abdul Wahab

Dr Amirudin Abdul Wahab (“Dr Amir”) is currently the Chief Executive Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia, a strategic agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Malaysia and the agency that monitors sovereignty of the country. He has around 25 years of ICT working experience in the telecom and IT sector in the Government as well as in the semi-government and private sectors.

Through his leadership at Cybersecurity Malaysia, Dr Amir managed to contribute to Malaysia’s achievement in attaining number #3 rank in the world, in the 2014 International Telecom Union (ITU) Global Cyber Security Index and becoming the first World Trustmark Alliance Chairman to be reappointed to a second term, was selected to receive an ASEAN Award as the Outstanding Chief Information/Security Officer Award. He is also a POLCYB (The Society of The Policing of Cyberspace) Non-Executive Board of Directors for year 2015 to 2018.

Daniel Kwong

Mr. Daniel Kwong joined CITIC Telecom CPC in July 2009 as General Manager, Security Services and was appointed as Senior Vice President, Information Technology and Security Services in September 2012. Mr. Kwong was also appointed by CITIC Telecom International Holdings Limited as a member of Technology Innovation Committee in Oct 2009.

Apart from leading the Security Services team to manage and develop TrustCSI™ information security solutions and services, as well as establish strategic partnership relations with different security product vendors for strengthening the solution offerings and service levels; Mr. Kwong is also entrusted to the development of new cloud services – SmartCLOUD™. He also leads the Information Technology Services team to ensure the optimal delivery and operation of CITIC Telecom CPC’s IT infrastructure and applications services.

Mr. Kwong has around 20 years of development and management experiences in information technology areas, including working in Motorola. He was also the senior manager of Information Technology in Jones Lang LaSalle Limited prior to joining CITIC Telecom CPC, responsible for management of information technology in Asia Pacific Regions.

Mr. Kwong holds the Bachelor Degree of Science from the University of Waterloo and Master Degree in Information Technology from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  He also possesses the professional qualifications of ITIL.

Simon Piff

Simon Piff has more than 21 years of Asia/Pacific regional experience, mostly in the IT industry, serving in various sales and marketing management roles for hardware, software, services, and online businesses.

Simon runs the IT security research agenda for IDC Asia/Pacific, focusing on the needs of the chief security officer in an environment that encompasses cloud computing, the Internet of Things, and a continued and persistent attack from cybercriminals. Much has changed in this area since 1994 when he installed his first firewall, and the collision of Big Data with security, the move to a defense in-depth strategy, and the issues of insufficient numbers of well-trained staff make this a challenging area for businesses today.

Having previously covered the storage system and then datacenter markets for
IDC Asia/Pacific, his career background and IDC experience put him in the ideal position to deliver valuable insights to both technology buyers and providers.

Prior to joining IDC, Simon worked at Microsoft Asia/Pacific, defining their business intelligence, data warehousing, and data management go-to-market strategies for the region. He also worked at Digital Equipment Corporation to develop its IT security, Internet, ecommerce, and service provider business as well as with a medical dot-com in various business development and management roles.

His background provides him with a unique understanding of the issues and challenges facing both end users and vendors with regard to their IT aspirations within the Asia/Pacific markets.

In 2005, Simon received his MBA from Southern Cross University, Australia.
